Screencasting Saga Continues

Okay playing around with screencasting has been pretty fun thus far. I have a Quicktime movie created of my Powerpoint but I’m looking to make it smaller. So I tried running it through my old Windows copy of Sorenson Squeeze but it didn’t work. I got the audio back out but the video part went bye bye. I’ve no idea why either. Grr. Maybe its a Mac PC not playing nice thing? Or maybe the Quicktime files Powerpoint creates can’t be compressed. I’m tempted to get a trial copy of Squeeze for my Mac and see if I can make it work that way. What I really like about the Squeeze product is the number of different options you have for bringing video in and outputting it. Its a pricing solution but effective. I’m going to get this to work at some point. In the meantime this is certainly a learning experience that will allow me to create some best practices for doing this sort of thing with online tutorials. If anyone else has experience doing this stuff on a Mac in a low-cost fashion send me an email or post a comment please. Input is appreciated.
