ODP to index RSS Feeds.

Steven Cohen at Library Stuff writes:
I just read this over at the ODP Weblog:
“Alongside standard HTML web sites and PDF documents, we're now accepting RSS feeds as listings in the directory. There's no change in the submission process but in future categories will start showing 'XML' sections with links to related RSS feeds.”
…
Back to the ODP, I am anxious as to how this is going to look. I hope that the entries will just include a link to subscribe to the feed (they could use QuickSub there too I suppose), but it looks like there will be separate XML sections (if I read the entry correctly). We'll just have to see. Also, will Google pick up on these feeds in their directory? Hmmmmm… [Library Stuff]
This is so neat! The really cool thing is that because the feeds are XML the ODP could actually choose to show the most recent posts from the feeds that they are including. This would give users a sample of the feeds' content. Including content from a feed on your site isn't that difficult if you know how to format the data using XSL. See my story “Encorporating XML content in your website”.
