Information Technologies in Libraries course
Jun 30th, 2004 by Karen
So I've been asked to put together a syllabus for a class on Information Technologies in Libraries and was wondering if my readers had any thoughts on what topics they think should be included. right now I am thinking about the following possibilities:
Web Technologies
-Static page technologies
-Dynamic page technologies
XML
Security
Wireless Technologies
Databases
Privacy Issues
E-reference
Web-based Instruction
Proxy-Servers
Networking
Open Source Software
Integrated Library Systems
I know that this is a lot. So I would appreciate input from those who work in libraries on what they think the most important topics are and if I have missed anything. I plan on suggesting one week at the end of the class for presentations about the latest technology trends in libraries.
