Servers, viri, no power oh my!

Well this week has certainly been exciting in the library. The week
started with assorted server problems. We were trying to clean old
stuff off one not knowing who stuff belonged to when another server
decided it needed to misbehave. Next we lost access to our servers
completely when there was a power outage on that part of campus.
Mid-week, we got hit with the latest virus. Today there is no power in
the library. So I am working from home on my speedy DSL connection
putting together articles, a syllabus and book review. The upside is
that I have had a chance to do some professional
development reading (since tech work was near impossible for a couple
stretches). Sometimes it just doesn't pay to be a techie librarian or a
techie of any sort for that matter.
