"IM the catalog
By Owen Stephens and Damyanti Patel
This is something that came up on The Shifted Librarian a little while ago. The idea of an Instant Messenger client as an interface to the catalog. I got this working for our catalog today using the Net::AIM perl module.
Getting it working was suprisingly simple in the end. [...]

The most recent hiatus at Library Web Chic has been due to the fact
that I have been taking some time off and visiting California post
Internet Librarian. I've been having a great time and will likely be
back posting next week. I've been taking lots of photos and wanted to
post some of them to the web easily [...]

Recap of Internet Librarian 2004
After taking a day off to visit the aquarium and drive down the coast
past Big Sur, I'm relaxed enough to reflect on my Internet Librarian
experience. I would have to say the best part about attending Internet
Librarian this year was meeting people. I had the opportunity to spend
some time with the library [...]

I survived
Well I just finished my presentation at Internet Librarian and I am
relieved that it is over. I think that it went well. I got lots of

Recent Projects
Jenny says that I need to write about what
I am doing with RSS and our web catalog. So I thought that I would post
a brief overview of my RSS, XML, library catalog exploits. Currently, I
have two RSS XML projects that I am working on. The first is an
XML-based blogging tool. By XML-based, I mean [...]

Internet Librarian Day 1
Today was the first day of Internet Librarian. According to the CEO of
the Information Today there are more than 1,000 conference attendees.
The thought of that makes me slightly nauseaous about giving my
presentation. There is the potential for there to be upwards of 200
people at my presentation, which freaks me out slightly.
Already [...]
