Mac Escapades

Mac Escapades
Well my new Mac arrived on Friday and I've been playing with it
every since. All I can say is I love it! It has a few quirks that I am
trying to get used to. (Like the fact that Needlesearch won't work in
Firefox on the Mac and that there isn't any built-in CD copying
software) Overall the experience is good thus far. In fact I am writing
this post from my Mac. Well sort of. I set it up so I can get to the
Radio interface remotely and post. If only it was that easy to get into
Radio when I am outside my home network. Then I wouldn't have to switch
blogging software so soon. Oh well.
Getting a new computer is always a challenge particularly when you
switch operating systems. As I said thus far it is going well. I have
all my files transferred and the software I want installed. The last
thing I need to do it get the web server set up. It is working right
now but doesn't have any scripting running on it. So I need to take
care of that. The web has been an invaluable resource in this process.
Ever where I turn there are helpful Mac links. Including information
about setting up and configuring Apache.
However, finishing the webserver configuration may have to wait until
next weekend. I have too many other things to get done this weekend,
including sending off a proposal to Internet Librarian International.
