So Much Stuff So Little Time
May 23rd, 2005 by Karen
So if you noticed I haven’t been blogging much of late… well, I’ve been swamped. First, I got an awful cold. Then I had a set of articles revision due. Next a bunch of end of the fiscal year stuff came up at work. If it sounds like an excuse, well maybe it is, but darn it really neat stuff keeps piling up in my aggregator and I don’t have time to absorb it all. So I’ve decide to use the “slash and burn” method of post reading, which basically equals read it or ditch it. I should be caught up by the time I leave on vacation Wed.
About the only thing I’ve been able to fit in are podcasts Open Stacks and Future Tense have been great. That’s because I can listen to them it the car on my way in. THANK YOU Greg for keeping me somewhat up to date! I have a bunch of other cool things to listen to on my iPod as well. Lectures from David Lankes at SU, who I had as a professor while getting my MLS and a bunch of other tech news stuff. All of these I’ll be listening to on my car ride to Iowa this week. I’d read in the car but I get car sick, very car sick. So… this is the next best thing. I would love to get my RSS feeds on my iPod as well. I even found a post that talks about how to do it. Unfortunately, its PC only. Someone please make a Mac solution!
I guess even though I am the queen of organization and (I think) highly productive, I need to take a look at Getting Things Done by David Allen as well. Maybe it can help me with my aggregator chaos and the competing interests in my life. In the meantime, I’ll just do the best I can to keep up!

You’re welcome!
I have employed the slash-and-burn approach in my aggregator on a permanent basis. It’s the only way I can possibly keep processing everything. I only hold on and refer to things I might talk about in the show. All other content has but one shot to command further examination.
Quick comment on the content from David Lankes: great stuff, but for the most part, it sounds awful.
