Yet another reason I love my Powerbook

First, let me say right off that I am a klutz. I can trip over a nonexistent “run” in the carpet more easily than I can breath. Things fly out of my hands, I get caught on things, I spill things, etc. So with tech toys I’m always concerned that I’m going to break them in some act of klutzy-ness/bad luck. So am typically EXTRA careful with my tech toys, particularly when I’m travelling. So I’ve had my powerbook for a year now and it has managed to survive. Not because I’ve become less klutzy or more careful. Its because the thing is a tank. Thus far I’ve had three seperate “oh no” incidents that would likely have toasted other laptops but my powerbook came through with flying colors. The first was at the airport where the security folks literally flung the plastic tub it was in across the conveyer belt. The second was when we were moving and it got dropped accidentally when I was trying to pack. The third was quite recently when I was working on the bus one day and the bus driver slammed on the breaks and the powerbook flew off my lap and on to the bus floor. All incidents resulted in no damage. Additionally, my iPod mini has been similarly mistreated. I’ve dropped it multiple types off my desk, on the bus, or a plane and it has managed to survive. For me this is reason enough never to buy to anything else.
