Home for a few days

I just got back from Access and am trying to get my things together to head off to Internet Librarian at the end of the week. Sorry folks, I haven’t had a chance to write up my notes yet. The short version though is that it was a fabulous conference and Ottawa is a great city. I got to meet a lot of great new people including Mark Jordan from Simon Fraser University and Terry Reese (who created MarcEdit) from OSU.
The conference content was great as well. All the presentations were phenonmenal. A couple that particularly stand out in my mind right now were OurOntario project by Walter Lewis (check out the demo) and Library Chatboxes in Electronic Reference by Anne Christensen from Hamburg University. The OurOntario folks gave my lots of ideas that I need to share with the UH Special Collections staff. The Lightening and Thunder talks were great. Who would’ve thought to use Drupal as a system for digital library content? and Ümlaut rocks!
I promised I’ll try to get my more detailed notes up ASAP, but this week is a bit crazy for a number of reasons.
