Internet Librarian Sunday
Oct 24th, 2006 by Karen
Sunday was the perfect day here at Internet Librarian. Since I had the whole day to myself I got to do some work, a little pleasure reading and hanging out. I had to switch hotels because when I made my reservations there wasn’t a room available in one place for the whole trip. I was pretty annoyed about this but when I got to the new room and saw the view. My mood improved greatly.
I also ran into Jenny Levine and got to talk to her about all the cool stuff she is doing with/for ALA. We love you Jenny! Then I went out to dinner with Michael, Michelle and some folks from Iowa at Epsilon a great Greek restaurant in Monterey. I had a combination plate so that I could try all the different delcious options. They have a great lunch menu too. So if you are looking for a place to dine walk two blocks east (same direction as Indian’s Clay Oven) of the conference center on Del Monte to Tyler St. and turn right.
This morning I got a great email from Info Today explaining what services are available to the bloggers at the conference (the wireless is sponsored by Computers in Libraries Magazine). In addition, to the regular wireless access we can use the press room and they’ll be a "blogger’s alley" in the exhibit hall. Very cool! This move shows great savvy on Info Today’s part as there is a large number of librarian bloggers here. Looking forward to sessions.
