My department is expanding

I got word a while back that I would be able to hire a new web developer for my department. I’m really excited about having an additional staff member in my department and think the things they will be working on are very cool. Below is a summary of the job ad which is now up on UH’s Human Resources Job site.
Duties/Responsibilities
This position will be located in the M.D. Anderson main library directly on campus and will be:
- Responsible for coordinating, developing, and maintaining the Libraries open source web applications including the Libraries blogs, and wikis.
- Helps incorporate appropriate design principles, coding standards and emerging technologies into the Library’s various open source systems and projects.
- Responsible for customizing the Libraries open source systems and assisting with the implementation of new open source software to support the Libraries virtual presence and digital initiatives.
- Monitors changes in technology and software to ensure state-of-the-art support for open source web development and assists in setting organizational open source web development strategies.
Qualifications
Required:
A degree and (3) years of experience in:
- Significant programming and development experience utilizing MySQL and PHP.
- Experience working with open source web applications such as Mediawiki, Wordpress, and Drupal.
- Knowledge of current web development standards (XHTML, CSS and Javascript) and cross platform compatibility and accessibility techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to formulate options, develop, and recommend solutions.
- Project Management experience
Desirable experience:
- Knowledge and development experience with of one more of the following: Perl, Python, Ruby, AJAX, and XML/XSL
- Experience administrating Apache web server within a Linux environment
- Experience working with library and/or higher education customers
- Experience with web-based library systems such as federated search tools, OpenURL resolvers, and institutional repositories
