October Mayhem
Oct 5th, 2007 by Karen
The October schedule madness has begun. Yesterday I flew to Denver for LITA Forum which is the first of three conferences I’m attending in October. Normally, three conferences isn’t a big deal. But my application for continuing appointment also happens to be due at the end of Oct, as is the book manuscript. So I’m trying to take things one event at a time to get through.
Upon arriving I discovered one of my favorite things about conference, just getting to hang out with people and learn stuff. I had a nice dinner with some other BIGWIG folks and then spend most of the even talking techy stuff with them. The result was that I found out about some nifty tools that I hadn’t heard about yet because since May my head has completely been on Website Redesign.
Here are a few nifty toys that were shared with me.
Firebug - This Firefox extension lets you can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page while you browse.
YSlow - This nifty Firefox extension will help you make your pages more efficient by analyzing them and creating a performance report card
GrandCentral - This service recently purchased by Google will help you streamline your phone numbers by giving you a central phone number that you can route to various phone.
