Upgraded to WP 2.5
Apr 11th, 2008 by Karen
I did my upgrade to Wordpress 2.5 yesterday which promptly broke my blog because I neglected to upload of of the files. It took me a while to discover something was wrong because the Admin interface was working fine and my cache was showing my blog homepage to me just fine too. Thanks to Blake for filling me in that it was actually broken. I had issues with the admin interface working properly. One of my plugins was breaking it and it took me a while to figure out which one.
Since the upgrade I’ve discovered a few things already that I like about 2.5 and a few that confused me for a bit. “Options” is now labeled “Settings” which threw me for a loop. I’m hoping that the upgrade will solve my posts not going through properly on the first save issue. But we will see. I also am excited to check out further some of the media management tools. Hopefully this functionality will make it easier for me to upload some of my presentations.
For the moment, everything is working though and I’m anxious to try out new functionality when time permits.

I was reading my rss feeds while waiting for my wordpress db and files to back themselves up before i upgrade to WP2.5. Good thing, too! What did you find was the problem? (I’m trying to avoid issues if possible).
I had two issues. One, I didn’t do the upgrade correctly the first time. I missed uploading one of the new files which broke everything. Two, my Creative Commons plugin was old so it broke pieces of the Admin interface.
