Packt Publishing which publishes some wonderful books on open source software. In addition, the sponsor awards for open source CMSs. Nominations are now for their open source CMS awards. There are several different categories in which CMSs can be nominated. For more information check out the award page on Packt’s website.

Over the last year working on several writing assignments and presentations, I’ve discovered that there is a huge variety of open source CMSs out there. While I have my own personal preferences, there are lots of different kinds of systems, powered by different technologies. Many are definitely worthy of these awards. So if you have a favorite you want to nominate, please do so. Particularly if is one that you think doesn’t get recognition. In libraries Drupal, Joomla and Plone get lots of buzz, but I know other systems are being used in libraries as well. Share your experiences with others by nominating your favorite OSS CMS!
