LITA Forum Fun

So I’m psyched to be attending LITA Forum this year. One of the coolest things is that in addition to recording video and audio of the keynotes, they’re trying streaming the keynotes. All of this is due in part to Jason Griffey and his plethora of cords and computers.

Forum also has lightning talks again this year, which should be really fun. These are one of my favorite things at code4lib and it will be interesting to see how they go at LITA Forum. They’ve also gone almost paperless it seems. Presentations are posted in ALA Connect, as is the schedule and list of attendees. Forum also has gone mobile thanks to Boopsie. Relevant info such as the conference schedule is available to mobile devices, which is really helpful.

I’ve already learned some stuff at conference. This morning I discovered that is that one can stream their screen via UStream on a Mac via CamTwist. I’m really interested in seeing how all this works and am going to make a run to the mall this evening to get a bluetooth headset to use as a mic for sound to try to stream my presentation at Forum.

Overall, I’m looking forward to a great conference, good presentations and conversations.
